About the Artist
Soren Song (formerly Steev Richter) is a singer/songwriter from New York. Over the past few decades they have gained a reputation as a performer who taps into the human experience and takes their listeners through the highs and lows in a way that few others do. There is no difference between the performer and the performance. When you listen to Soren you get all of them - in whatever way it happens to come out. They seem to channel directly from a magical world - a place where songs and symbols are substance and the physical is a dream
Soren has worked with Grammy winning producer Danny Blume on their last two releases, "Beloved (Home)" and "Boundaries (Hell)", and is currently working on a third album called "Believe (Heal)". They are also working on a musical/ballet based on this trilogy of albums called "Soren's Song".
Some of the musicians featured on these albums are: Rachael Yamagata, Nel Cline (Wilco), John Medeski (Mediski, Martin and Wood), Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel/Paul McCartney), Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria), Tess Wiley (Sixpence None the Richer), Mark Orton (Score for Nebraska/The Good Girl), and Jesse Murphy (Joe Jackson/David Byrne).
After a profound awakening in 2021, Soren grew into their new name and a new, more authentic identity. They prefer the pronouns they/them. They are actively involved in using their platform, their voice, and their energy to support various social justice causes and to bring awareness, clarity, and understanding to issues that have effected them, such as addiction and mental illness.
Soren offers one on one sessions to help guide you to yourself and your authentic expression through playing music and singing. Check out the "Authentic Play" section of the website for more information.
